Brain Health & Wellness Information

We believe its important to look at the person as a whole. There is no one path to wellness and wellness looks different for everyone. We work in collaboration with our clients and offer different modalities. One of them teaching about the brain and how it can be optimized by exploring nutrition whether it's with foods and/or supplements. We are not physicians; however, we are able to guide our clients by providing the knowledge they need to make the decision toward a lifestyle change.

Where to start?

Here are some tips on improving brain health and wellness:

  • Exercise regularly. Exercise is good for the whole body, including the brain. It helps to improve blood flow to the brain, which can help to protect against cognitive decline. This doesn't mean to "jump" into powerlifting, marathon runner, or a yogi. Begin small and develop your exercise routine. *AXiOFiT is home to the best functional training equipment on the market. Their products are meticulously crafted to improve your overall strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance.

  • Get enough sleep. Sleep is essential for brain health. When you don't get enough sleep, your brain doesn't have a chance to rest and repair itself. Most adults need around 7-8 hours of sleep per night.

  • Eat a healthy diet. A healthy diet includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. These foods are packed with nutrients that are essential for brain health.

  • Stay mentally active. Challenge your mind with activities like puzzles, games, and learning new things. These activities help to keep your brain sharp.

  • Reduce stress. Stress can take a toll on your brain health. Find healthy ways to manage stress, such as exercise, relaxation techniques, or spending time with loved ones. The chemicals we need to feel higher, healthier and happier are inside of all us. *HigherDOSE  is all about plugging back into the healing power of nature and prioritizing feeling our best, from the inside out.

  • Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol use. Smoking and excessive alcohol use can damage your brain cells and increase your risk of dementia.

  • Get regular checkups. If you have any concerns about your brain health, talk to your doctor. They can screen you for conditions like Alzheimer's disease and dementia and recommend treatment options if necessary.

In addition to these tips, there are a number of other things you can do to improve brain health and wellness. These include:

  • Socialize. Social interaction is important for brain health. Make time for friends and family, and get involved in activities that you enjoy.

  • Learn a new language. Learning a new language can help to improve your memory and cognitive function.

  • Volunteer. Volunteering can help to reduce stress and improve your mood, both of which can benefit your brain health.

  • Take care of your heart. Heart disease is a major risk factor for dementia. By taking care of your heart, you can also help to protect your brain.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to promoting brain health. The best approach is to find a combination of activities that you enjoy and that challenge your mind. By taking care of your brain, you can help to keep it healthy and sharp for years to come.

What is a Brain Health Assessment?

*The Brain Health Assessment by Dr. Daniel Amen is a self-assessment tool that helps you identify your brain type and get personalized recommendations for improving your brain health. The assessment is based on Dr. Amen's research on brain imaging and his work with thousands of patients. The Brain Health Assessment has 35 questions that measure your personality, behavior, and thoughts. Based on your answers, you will receive a type out of 16 possible brain types.

Once you know your brain type, you then receive recommendations for improving your brain health. These recommendations may include:

  • Exercise: Exercise helps to improve blood flow to the brain, which can help to protect against cognitive decline.

  • Sleep: Getting enough sleep is essential for brain health.

  • Stress management: Stress can damage the brain, so it is important to find healthy ways to manage stress.
